LMRA Conducts Over 1,400 Inspections, Deporting Over 100 Violators

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,425 inspection campaigns and visits from July 27 to August 2, which resulted in the detention of 14 violating and irregular workers, while 106 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring several violations related to the provisions of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.

The Authority noted that 1,411 inspection visits were carried out on various shops in all governorates, in addition to 14 joint inspection campaigns. These included 3 campaigns in the Muharraq Governorate, 6 in the Northern Governorate, and 5 in the Southern Governorate.

The campaigns saw the participation of several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), and the respective Police Directorate of each Governorate, as well as the Social Insurance Organisation.

The Authority confirmed continued collaboration with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across all governorates of the Kingdom, aiming to tackle violations or practices that could destabilize the labour market or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The LMRA renewed its call to the public to support government efforts in addressing illegal labour practices. Citizens are encouraged to report violations via the electronic form on the authority's website, by calling the authority's call centre on 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
