Manama: Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Labour Minister, met with Aishath Ihma Shareef, the Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting aimed to discuss the ongoing cooperation and support for global efforts to combat trafficking in persons, highlighting Bahrain's successful initiatives in this critical area.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions also focused on the Kingdom's initiatives to enhance protection for migrant workers. Both parties emphasized the importance of promoting decent working environments and ensuring that Bahrain's national legislation is in alignment with international labour standards and human rights principles. The meeting underscored Bahrain's commitment to continuing its efforts in these areas and strengthening its partnership with international organizations like the IOM.
