Colombo:The Labour Market Regulatory Authority received two awards at the Global CIO 200 Grand Finale 2026, which was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The awards recognized the Authority's advancements in technology and innovation through its Smart Inspection System and Service Agreement Platform.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Talal Ali Al Amer, Director of the Authority's Information Technology Department, and Othman Adel Al Abbasi, Head of the Infrastructure and Applications Management Section, were acknowledged for their contributions to these projects. These recognitions were among those given to 200 IT leaders from around the world for their professional contributions to technology, digital transformation, and innovation.
The Smart Inspection System is one of the Authority's key initiatives. It leverages AI to assist inspectors in preparing inspection reports electronically during field visits, enhancing the quality and reliability of reports, and eliminating traditional paper-based methods. This system increases the efficiency of inspections and speeds up the process of recording observations and violations. It also offers instant voice and text translation in various languages, facilitating communication with workers of different nationalities, and standardizes the procedure for preparing and documenting reports electronically.
The Service Agreement Platform aims to electronically document agreements between workers and beneficiaries, transitioning these interactions to a more organized and transparent digital environment. This platform enhances the reliability of procedures, supports the Authority's technological developments, and promotes practices that protect the rights of all parties involved in employment relationships.
The awards highlight the expertise of national professionals in information technology and digital transformation, emphasizing the Authority's dedication to utilizing modern technologies and innovation to advance its operations and services and align with international best practices.
