Sepang:Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited the Bahrain Village at the Sepang International Circuit, an event organized by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) during the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Prime Minister Ibrahim was welcomed by Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the BTEA, and accompanied by Dr Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Bahrain's Ambassador to Malaysia, on a tour of the village.
The Prime Minister explored various experiences offered by the village that highlight Bahrain's cultural and heritage identity. These included cultural activities, live handicraft demonstrations, and the presence of local Bahraini food brands, providing race visitors with insights into the Kingdom's traditions and culinary offerings.
Prime Minister Ibrahim also examined how the Bahrain Village serves as a platform to showcase the country's tourism and cultural attractions to an international audience. The initiative combines traditional heritage with a contemporary flair, emphasizing the diversity of tourism experiences available in Bahrain.
The Bahrain Village is part of a broader strategy by the BTEA to leverage international sporting events as opportunities to promote Bahrain and expand its global audience, thereby enhancing its status as a varied tourism and cultural hub.
