Kuwait Air Defenses Deal with 15 Hostile Drones in Past 24 Hours

Kuwait city: The Ministry of Defence of the State of Kuwait reported that the armed forces successfully detected and managed 15 hostile drones in the last 24 hours. Several of these drones targeted the vicinity of Kuwait International Airport, causing significant damage to the radar system. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Colonel Staff Saud Al-Atwan, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence of Kuwait, disclosed during a media briefing that Kuwait Army firefighting units assisted the Kuwait Fire Force in controlling the fire that erupted after the attack on fuel storage tanks at the airport. The incident occurred amid ongoing Iranian aggression in the region.

Colonel Al-Atwan mentioned that Task Force (Ghaith) conducted several support and assistance missions responding to various reports and emergency situations due to unstable weather conditions in the country over the past two days. He emphasized that the armed forces are maintaining their duties and national responsibilities with high levels of readiness and vigilance. This is part of an integrated system of monitoring, follow-up, and response to threats, in full cooperation with military, security, and state entities, to bolster national security and ensure the stability and safety of citizens and residents.

Earlier, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that Kuwait International Airport had been struck by multiple drone attacks, resulting in material damage primarily to the radar system, but no human casualties were reported. The authority's official spokesperson, Abdullah Al Rajhi, reiterated the extent of the damage to the radar system at the airport.
