Interior Minister holds meeting with Governors

Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, held a meeting today with the Governors. He hailed their role in reinforcing interaction with citizens and residents, through the governorates’ events and programmes and following precautionary measures.

He highlighted that the fishermen case is supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He said based on the support and the royal directives to protect fishermen and their livelihoods, the Capital Governor provided the assistance ordered by HM the King to fishermen to ensure decent living for all citizens.

During the meeting, His Highness the Southern Governor briefed the attendees about the CCTVs in the governorate and their role in reinforcing security and public safety. He also highlighted the campaigns in the district to promote social distancing as part of community partnership, pointing out the security needs of Khalifa City.

The Muharraq Governor discussed issues related to the governorate, including allocating an area for food trucks and financial assistance. The Interior Minister ordered fast processing of assistance for humanitarian and accident cases and to take immediate procedures in emergencies and urgent cases.

The Capital Governor reviewed the efforts of the governorates in studying the requirements of the residents during the COVID-19 pandemic and the allocation of areas to build shelters, along with the formation of a team of volunteers. He discussed inspection campaigns of gas cylinders shops in coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Defence. The Interior Minister highlighted the importance to utilise modern technology to prevent accidents.

The Northern Governor highlighted the efforts of the governorate in promoting general safety.

At the end of the meeting, the Interior Minister highlighted the importance for the governor to continue interacting with citizens through modern technology and promote ties with organisations to meet people’s aspiration.
