Manama: Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, held a meeting with key representatives from Bahrain's food import, distribution, and retail sectors, as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard food security and market stability.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Fakhro emphasised the importance of continued, coordinated engagement with all relevant stakeholders to enhance the readiness of local markets and ensure the uninterrupted flow of goods. He highlighted the need to implement mechanisms and measures that support market stability and strengthen the system's resilience in responding effectively to evolving developments.
Abdullah bin Adel commended the constructive cooperation of food importers and distributors with the ministry and highlighted their significant role in maintaining the steady availability of essential food items. He also commended the dedicated efforts of national authorities, who prioritise the well-being of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.
He noted that food products are currently available in ample quantities and continue to reach local markets smoothly. He expressed appreciation for the public's responsible response to recent developments and urged the importance of relying on official sources of information to support orderly purchasing practices.
On their part, representatives of the food import and distribution sector underscored that both essential and supplementary goods remain widely available in the local market, reflecting the stability of supply chains and the efficiency of Bahrain's storage and distribution systems.
