Industry Minister Chairs 56th GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee Meeting Amid Regional Tensions

Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, chaired the remote 56th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee. The meeting saw participation from the Ministers of Industry from GCC member states, accompanying Gulf delegations, and Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Fakhro highlighted the importance of continued coordination and joint integration among GCC countries, especially in the context of current challenges posed by Iranian attacks. These attacks have been described as a violation of international laws and norms, posing threats to regional stability and economic security.

Minister Fakhro pointed out that GCC nations have shown their capability to tackle such challenges by implementing alternative logistical routes and enhancing the resilience of supply chains. This strategy aims to ensure sustainability and security. He acknowledged the significant roles played by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman in facilitating goods movement through land ports, thereby strengthening regional connectivity and serving as a model for Gulf integration during crises.

The meeting's agenda included discussions on strengthening industrial integration, developing relevant legislation, supporting the digital economy, exploring joint investment opportunities, and enhancing the competitiveness of Gulf products in both regional and international markets.
