Manama: Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro conducted field inspections of retail outlets, warehouses, and major markets to assess the availability of essential goods and monitor price stability amid current developments. The visits, undertaken in coordination with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, included meetings with traders and suppliers in the food and consumer goods sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspections are part of continued efforts to monitor market conditions, ensure adequate quantities of basic commodities, and maintain stable price levels. Observations during the visits indicated that markets continue to record sufficient supplies across a range of consumer goods, with prices remaining stable and no unjustified increases detected. This reflects the resilience of supply chains, the effectiveness of the market oversight framework, and the contribution of the commercial sector to domestic economic stability.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce stated that inspection campaigns will be further intensified to safeguard consumer interests. It affirmed that legal action will be taken against any violations, including withholding goods, failing to place products on the market, or attempting to manipulate prices or exploit prevailing conditions.
The ministry also emphasised continued coordination to maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure preparedness for potential developments. It confirmed the stability of the Kingdom's supply situation and the continued availability of essential goods. Citizens and residents are urged to report any challenges affecting supply continuity or product availability by contacting the consumer protection hotline on +80008001.
