Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Defence in the United Arab Emirates has reported that since the onset of the Iranian attack, UAE air force and air defence forces have managed to intercept and neutralize a significant number of threats, including 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 541 Iranian drones.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry detailed that on the morning of the second day of the attack, the UAE air force and air defence forces successfully destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, while eight missiles fell into the sea. Additionally, the forces intercepted and destroyed two cruise missiles and 311 drones, although 21 drones managed to strike civilian targets. The ministry emphasized the UAE's capability to handle such threats effectively.
The ministry further explained that since the beginning of the Iranian attack on 28th February 2026, a total of 165 ballistic missiles launched from Iran towards the UAE have been detected. Out of these, 152 were intercepted and destroyed, while 13 fell into sea waters. Two cruise missiles were also detected and successfully destroyed.
Moreover, a total of 541 Iranian drones have been detected, with 506 intercepted and destroyed, while 35 drones caused material damage after falling within the country. The ministry noted that debris from intercepted ballistic missiles and drones led to minor to moderate material damage to several civilian properties across various areas of the country.
