Manama: As part of the government mobile applications merger plan, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the complete migration of all services available on the "Islamiyat" app to the unified "MyGov" app, which is available to the public through the Bahrain eGovernment Apps Store via bahrain.bh/apps. Ali Abdulaziz Janahi, Deputy Chief Executive for eTransformation at the iGA, affirmed that this move is part of the continued efforts to enhance digital transformation in government services to be more convenient for beneficiaries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative is in line with the continuous follow-up of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, chaired by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and in coordination with government entities to execute the government mobile applications merger plan. Janahi highlighted that the plan aims to merge existing government apps into three main platforms: "MyGov" for individuals, "AlTajir" for businesses and investors, and "Bahrain" app for visitors. He also noted the iGA's ongoing efforts to further enhance the "MyGov" app by adding more government services that represent key priorities for the public.
He emphasized that the bundle of services migrated from the Islamiyat app to the "MyGov" app includes services provided in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, such as Zakat and charity donations services, mosques locations and Islamic centers, identifying Sharia institutes, prayer timings and the Hijri calendar according to the Al Zubarah and Bahrain calendar, Qibla direction, daily moon status, and the Gregorian calendar. Additionally, the Adhan audio feature was recently activated within the app in response to public suggestions. Furthermore, the "Fael Khair" service, provided in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, has also been transferred to the "MyGov" app under the Islamic Affairs services category.
Janahi further indicated that the Ramadhan Majalis service, provided by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), has also been migrated from the "Islamiyat" app to the "MyGov" app. The unified "MyGov" app for individuals currently offers 111 features and services provided by 15 government entities. Additionally, as part of the implementation of the government smart applications merger plan, the iGA has so far transferred and integrated the services of the "Be Aware", Bahrain Post, and Electricity and Water Services applications into the "MyGov" app.
