iGA Launches Comprehensive My Gov App via eGovernment Apps Store

Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has officially launched the My Gov app, as announced by Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed during a press conference. The app's launch was officiated by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the app, developed in collaboration with CrediMax, aligns with the directives of the Government Executive Committee, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The launch coincides with the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's reign, marking 25 years since his ascension to the throne.

During the announcement, Al Qaed emphasized the app's significance in advancing eServices for Bahrain's citizens and residents. He noted that the My Gov app is part of the iGA's ongoing efforts to implement government directives and support the 2023-2026 Government Plan, which aims to digitize services and deploy advanced technologies through electronic channels.

The app boasts a unified login feature that provides access to 41 eServices from nine government entities via the upgraded eKey 2.0. As a winning entry in the Government Innovation Competition (FIKRA) and a suggestion from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), the app is designed to streamline user access to government services, allowing for efficient transaction completion.

Al Qaed also acknowledged the Minister of Interior's role in supporting the app's development, highlighting its comprehensive nature and adherence to high security and privacy standards. Users benefit from features such as biometric authentication, ensuring the protection of personal information.

Key app functionalities include access to personal documents, such as ID cards, passports, and driving licenses, as well as digital services accessible through the eKey 2.0. The app also supports reporting and tracking of official reports, anti-corruption, economic security, and cyber security issues, among others.

Ahmed Albalooshi, iGA Director of eService and Channel Development, reiterated the iGA's commitment to digital transformation, aiming to enhance access to government services and improve national operations. The My Gov app's phased rollout will continue to expand its service offerings through 2026.

Additional services include digital passport display, health appointment details, education-related services, and utilities management. The app also offers a suite of ID card services, government notifications, and a directory of public services.

The app's user interface, divided into five sections, follows international best practices, ensuring easy navigation and accessibility. For further inquiries, users can contact the Government Services Call Center or engage through Tawasul.
