Gudaibiya: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today presided over the weekly Cabinet meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting covered a range of key national and international developments, reflecting Bahrain's ongoing commitment to strategic growth and collaboration.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the successful launch of Bahrain's Al Munther satellite from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA. This achievement marks a significant advancement in Bahrain's space sector and its contributions to both regional and international development strategies. The Cabinet commended the efforts of Bahrain's national workforce, with support from His Highness Lieutenant-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Commander of the Royal Guard.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman expressed gratitude for the hospitality received during his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), noting the enduring strength of Bahrain-UAE relations and their robust multisectoral collaboration. This partnership is supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The Cabinet also welcomed the launch of the third edition of the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women's Empowerment. Announced during the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York, the award underscores Bahrain's dedication to advancing women's roles in sustainable development.
Marking Community Partnership Day, the Cabinet recognized the contributions of Bahraini citizens to national development and acknowledged the Ministry of Interior's role in fostering community partnerships. Furthermore, as the League of Arab States celebrates its 80th anniversary, the Cabinet reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to initiatives that enhance Arab unity and cooperation.
In addition, the Cabinet celebrated Bahrain International Airport's recognition as the Best Airport at Arrivals globally in the Airport Service Quality Awards by Airports Council International, highlighting the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing global competitiveness.
The Cabinet approved several significant measures, including updates to business activity requirements in the Sijilat system, amendments to the National Space Science Agency's founding decree, a visa exemption agreement with Morocco, and a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.
The Cabinet reviewed various memoranda, including the 2024 work and achievements of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, water quality improvements in Tubli Bay, and public health service developments compared to 2023.
