Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, welcomed His Highness Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with the officials from the Bahrain Space Agency, following the triumphant launch of the 'Al Munther' satellite into orbit.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA, aboard the Falcon 9 rocket. 'Al Munther' is Bahrain's first satellite, entirely designed and developed within the Kingdom, aiming to localize satellite technology and enhance national capabilities in space exploration. The satellite carries four space payloads, crafted by Bahraini engineers, marking a significant step in Bahrain's technological advancement in the space sector.
His Majesty King Hamad highlighted that the successful launch of 'Al Munther' by talented young Bahrainis is a historic achievement for the Kingdom, strengthening its position in global space science and technology. The King extended his congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser and the Bahrain Space Agency team, along with other governmental bodies and contributors involved in this national accomplishment.
King Hamad commended the team's efforts in executing this critical project, which enhances Bahrain's record in space sciences and technology.
