Manama: Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), congratulated Aysha Al Haram on her appointment as co-chair of the newly established "SSPI-WISE East" regional group under the international Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) initiative Women in Space Engagement (WISE). Al Haram's appointment marks her as the first Arab woman to assume a senior leadership role within the organization.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim commended Al Haram's efforts in this specialised domain and her abilities, which qualify her to utilise her expertise to achieve ambitious aspirations through her new role. The appointment is seen as a pivotal development for the global space sector, enhancing its excellence and sustainability while contributing to the Kingdom's international standing in the field.
The Princess highlighted that this appointment will strengthen cooperation in space, benefiting both the Kingdom and the wider Arab region. She noted the notable achievements of Bahraini women, whose skills and hard work have earned them important decision-making roles locally and internationally.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim further expressed that this achievement supports the advancement of Bahraini women and increases their involvement in advanced science. She expressed hope that Al Haram's role will create new opportunities for the development of the Kingdom's space sector, helping national talents continue to excel and innovate in this important area.
