Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), chaired the Board of Directors meeting in Bahrain Bay. His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of national efforts led by Team Bahrain to adapt to global economic developments, converting challenges into opportunities that support the Kingdom's development goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness praised the board's achievements in 2025, which highlight the Board's role in enhancing Bahrain's competitiveness on both international and regional levels. He noted that these accomplishments demonstrate Team Bahrain's efficiency and adaptability in various circumstances, which contribute to economic growth and diversification.
The meeting reviewed the Bahrain Economic Development Board's objectives for 2026, focusing on attracting investments in priority sectors and initiatives to emphasize Bahrain's competitive advantages globally. The efforts aim to solidify the Kingdom's international investment position and showcase the resilience of Bahrain's economy amid challenges.
His Royal Highness reiterated that Bahraini citizens are central to the Kingdom's development plans, acting as primary drivers of growth. He commended the EDB's success in achieving investment goals and advancing economic diversification, which supports the creation of quality job opportunities across key sectors.
During the meeting, HE Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, presented the EDB's achievements in 2025. The EDB attracted BHD 942 million (USD 2.5 billion) in investments from 107 projects, expected to create over 5,800 jobs over three years. Investments spanned manufacturing, tourism, financial services, ICT, and logistics, with manufacturing receiving the largest share.
HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
