Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputed His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to attend the closing ceremony of the Middle East Ironman 70.3 Bahrain. The event was held at Reef Island and was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, and His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee. According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted that the event is in alignment with Bahrain's progress and achievements under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He emphasized Bahrain's position as a hub for both regional and global sporting events and noted the ongoing development within the sports sector. Shaikh Nasser expressed gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his support of the s ports sector and recognized his patronage of the Middle East Ironman Championship. He also stressed the government's commitment to prioritizing sports as part of its agenda. Shaikh Nasser commended the successful execution of the event's eighth edition, which demonstrated Bahrain's organizational capabilities and its capacity to produce positive outcomes. He extended his appreciation to all involved entities and the organizing committee for their efforts, and he congratulated the winners in various categories. In the awards ceremony, Shaikh Nasser presented the champions with their titles. Vincent Luis of Bahrain Victorious won the men's professional title, while his teammate Georgia Taylor Brown secured the women's title. The ceremony also included recognition of cooperating entities, sponsors, and the organizing committee for their contributions to the event.
