Cairo: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, met with His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the New Administrative Capital as part of his official visit to Egypt. The meeting emphasized the strong ties between Bahrain and Egypt, attributed to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to fulfill the aspirations of both nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the historic relations between the two countries, driven by cooperation, coordination, and partnerships across various sectors. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to further advancing bilateral relations and acknowledged Egypt's significant role in the Arab world and regional security. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in digital transformation, logistics, industry, tourism, construction, and food security, alongside reviewing mutual interests and developments.
The meeting saw the signing of several key agreements in the presence of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad. These include a Memorandum of Understanding between Aluminium Bahrain and the Aluminium Company of Egypt, aimed at evaluating an aluminium refining plant in Egypt. Other agreements were signed between Bahrain's Economic Development Board and Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, as well as between Exhibition World Bahrain and the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority.
Additional agreements signed encompassed sectors such as customs, tourism, antiquities, competition protection, sustainable development, labor, urban planning, youth affairs, construction, social insurance, and social development. Each agreement was aimed at fostering cooperation and investment between Bahrain and Egypt.
The visit concluded with a lunch banquet hosted by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly in honor of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad and his delegation.
