Manama: The Political Committee of the Strategic Dialogue between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom held a meeting via video conference. The Bahraini side was chaired by Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the British side was led by Thomas Allen, Head of the Gulf Department at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The meeting prepared for the second Bahrain-UK Strategic Dialogue scheduled for later this year.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali commended the close and growing bilateral relations across various domains. He emphasized Bahrain's commitment to enhancing and expanding cooperation to serve the shared interests of both countries and their peoples.
The meeting also addressed means to develop the strategic partnership and improve coordination in multiple areas. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing the strategic dialogue and consultation mechanisms between Bahrain and the UK.
