Bahrain and Egypt Forge Social Insurance and Pensions Agreement

Cairo: As part of the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Arab Republic of Egypt, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of social insurance and pensions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of Egypt by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance.

Sahar Rashid Abdulrahman Al Mannai, CEO of the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), emphasised that signing the MoU between SIO and the National Organisation for Social Insurance of Egypt stems from the distinguished relations between the two countries and reflects their mutual keenness to further develop these relations.

The MoU aims to enhance and develop cooperation between the two organisations in the field of social insurance, including the exchange of expertise, studies, and research in actuarial, administrative, and technical domains.
