Al raffah: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today attended the Al Raffah Media Festival, held at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC), in Al Raffah. The festival featured three races: the Al Raffah Media Cup, the Celebrate Bahrain Cup, and the NAD Holding Cup.
According to Bahrain News Agency, winners of the cups were announced, and Mrs. Sarah Ahmed Buheji, CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), presented the Celebrate Bahrain Cup to Abdullah Fawzi Nass. His Highness Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa received the NAD Holding Cup and Al Raffah Media Cup from Mr. Mohammed Haji, Deputy CEO of NAD Holding.
The event witnessed significant public turnout, combining the celebration of national holidays with the appreciation of Bahraini media. The initiative, launched for the first time by the Club, included the introduction of the Al Raffah Media Cup to honor the service and contributions of Bahraini media professionals. This forms part of the Club’s ongoing programs during the horse racing season.
The evening saw thrilling competitions and victories, contributing to the Club’s distinguished weekly horse races. Round 1 saw the horse Obeyan 1893 from Al Wasmiya Stables achieve his first victory this season. In Round 2, South China Sea from Al Adiyat Stables, ridden by jockey Ebrahim Nader, took the lead in the Bahrain Bred Horses Race.
Round 3 was marked by Call of Duty, owned by M and E Racing, winning the Bahrain Bred Handicap Race. In Round 4, Asaaff, owned by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, won after a close finish. Gulf Racing’s horse Athan secured his second consecutive victory in Round 5 by winning the Celebrate Bahrain Cup for imported horses.
Round 6 featured the horse Hattab, providing His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa the second win of the evening, with jockey Ebrahim Nader achieving three wins. Hot Dancer from Al Mohamediya Racing won the NAD Holding Cup for imported horses in Round 7, marking his second consecutive victory. In Round 8, Western from Al Mohamediya Racing claimed victory in the first edition of the Al Raffah Media Cup.
High-profile attendees included His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the REHC, and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the REHC, among other senior officials and sponsors.
