Baku: Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, participated in a discussion session on the regional and global impacts of the recent Iranian attacks on housing and urban planning during the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Azerbaijan. The forum is organised jointly by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Rumaihi stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain had implemented rapid response measures to address damage caused to homes and infrastructure following the recent Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom. She emphasized that the government is executing the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to address damage affecting citizens' homes.

Such actions pose challenges to international efforts aimed at achieving sustainable and resilient cities under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Al Rumaihi reviewed the measures undertaken by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Ministry of Works to assess damage, repair affected housing units, and provide compensation for homes, vehicles, and private property damaged during the attacks. She also mentioned the temporary housing measures implemented through the provision of furnished apartments in Salman City for families whose homes sustained major damage until restoration works are completed.
Further, the minister highlighted national reconstruction efforts supported by volunteer initiatives and private sector contributions, underscoring the collaborative effort to restore normalcy and support affected citizens.
