Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, the Commander of the US Central Command, and an accompanying delegation. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, and Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, were present.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King welcomed the Commander of the US Central Command and commended the historical strategic ties between the two countries, which have spanned decades and are based on trust, mutual respect, and joint cooperation as friends and allies. His Majesty noted the continued development of bilateral cooperation in defence and military domains and in areas that achieve all objectives and aspirations.
The meeting reviewed regional and international developments, in addition to matters of mutual interest. His Majesty the King commended the key and active role played by the United States of America alongside allied countries in strengthening regional and global security and stability.
