Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (18) of 2026, which approves the agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Jersey. This agreement focuses on the elimination of double taxation concerning taxes on income and aims to prevent tax evasion and avoidance. The law was ratified following its approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Jersey was signed in Manama on September 15, 2025. This significant bilateral arrangement seeks to foster economic cooperation by removing the barriers of double taxation and enhancing transparency in tax-related matters.
The implementation of this law is entrusted to the Prime Minister and the ministers, each within their respective capacities. The provisions of the law are set to become effective the day following its publication in the Official Gazette, marking a new chapter in the tax relations between Bahrain and Jersey.
