Manama: His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Decree (11) of 2026 to reorganise the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. This decision follows a proposal by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and subsequent approval from the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the reorganisation of the ministry will encompass several key areas. The structure will now include the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications at the helm, under whom various divisions will operate. Key sections include the Communication and Marketing Directorate and the Assistant Undersecretary for Telecommunications.
Furthermore, the Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Information will oversee essential directorates such as Information Systems, Human Resources, Financial Resources, and Services. The Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post will manage subdivisions dealing with postal regulations, post offices, and various aspects of land transport.
The Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs will oversee air navigation, meteorological services, air transport, aviation safety, and aeronautical licensing. Additionally, the Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Navigation Affairs will supervise operations related to ports, maritime safety, and ship registry.
The decree repeals Decree (95) of 2019, marking a significant restructuring within the ministry. The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications is tasked with implementing the provisions of this decree, which takes effect immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
