Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued Law (23) of 2025, which introduces several amendments to the Law of Commerce that was originally enacted under Decree-Law (7) of 1987. These amendments received endorsement from the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the new amendments cover several key areas including cheque regulation, joint account procedures, the legal enforcement of financial obligations, and consumer protection in financial transactions. These changes aim to update and streamline the existing commercial laws to better meet current economic needs.
The implementation of this law is entrusted to the Prime Minister and the ministers, each within their respective capacities. The law will come into effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
