His Highness Shaikh Isa Attends Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket July Festival

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), attended the annual Kingdom of Bahrain Trophy at the Newmarket July Festival in the United Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness emphasized Bahrain's global recognition in hosting international horse races, driven by the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The horse racing sector is seen as a promising platform for attracting partnerships and investments to the Kingdom.

His Highness highlighted the opportunities for collaboration and business growth within the competitive environment of horse racing. He also noted the historical ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, reflected in Bahrain's participation in the Newmarket event.

The inclusion of the Kingdom of Bahrain Trophy race within the festival underscores Bahrain's commitment to elevating its international horseracing profile. His Highness commended the festival's organization and appreciated the participation of international owners, trainers, jockeys, and horses.

He acknowledged the efforts of the Economic Development Board in promoting Bahrain's investment opportunities through sponsorships of prominent international races. His Highness presented awards to the winners, including the Princess of Wales's Stakes to Godolphin's representative for the winning horse 'El Cordobes', and honored the trainer and jockey for their victory.

Her Excellency Nour bint Ali Al Khulaif and His Excellency Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa also presented awards for other races. The event saw strategic agreements signed by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club with international companies, pledging significant investments in Bahraini races.

Bahrain's sponsorship of prestigious races across Europe, including those at the Newmarket July Festival and Leopardstown Racecourse in Ireland, was also noted as part of its commitment to advancing the sport.
