HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Mubarak Leads Isa Award Board Meeting

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, presided over the tenth meeting of the award's fourth cycle.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak commended the international jury for its objective and impartial assessment of nominees, which resulted in a shortlist of five potential laureates selected from 150 candidates globally. The board approved this shortlist and tasked the award's General Secretariat with verifying the data and information of the potential recipients.

The Isa Award for Service to Humanity, established in 2008, is presented every two years under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It is awarded to individuals or institutions and includes a prize of one million US dollars, a gold medal, and a certificate of appreciation. The award honors the humanitarian legacy of the late Amir Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Notable past recipients of the award include Dr. Jemilah Mahmood from Malaysia for disaster relief efforts, Professor Achyuta Samanta from India for poverty alleviation, the Children's Cancer Hospital in Egypt for combating disease, the EDHI Foundation in Pakistan for humanitarian services, and Dr. Sanduk Ruit from Nepal for treating eye conditions.

The Isa Award for Service to Humanity is recognized as the first Arab award in the field of humanitarian service to gain international acclaim, drawing nominees from across the world.
