Derasat Seminar Marks First Anniversary of Bahrain-China Strategic Partnership

Manama: The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat) organised a seminar to mark the first anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People's Republic of China.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event, held at Derasat's headquarters, was attended by Ni Ruchi, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and brought together representatives from Chinese think tanks, alongside a number of Bahraini officials and experts from national institutions.

Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Shaikho, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the People's Republic of China, delivered opening remarks via video call, in which he highlighted areas of cooperation over the past year and the growing importance of Bahrain-China relations.

Ambassador Ni Ruchi underlined the deep rooted historical ties between the two countries and the growth witnessed across various sectors, including the economy, infrastructure, culture, and education. He also commended Derasat's role in advancing joint research efforts and promoting knowledge exchange.

The seminar featured four panel discussions. The first session, titled Relations between China and Bahrain, reviewed developments in political and economic cooperation. The second session, Frameworks for International Cooperation, addressed Bahrain's engagement in multilateral initiatives. The third panel, Exploring Modern Technologies, focused on technological innovation and cross sector applications.

The final session, Enhancing Trade Relations, brought together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Nasser Centre for Science and Technology, and Chinese research institutions to discuss prospects for strengthening commercial and investment ties.

The seminar reflects Derasat's commitment to fostering international collaboration, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain's aspirations to establish high quality global partnerships and support sustainable development goals under Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
