Manama: Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs (SCYS), the Ministry of Education held the final match of the Nasser bin Hamad Football Tournament for Secondary Schools for the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC); His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of GSA; Shaikh Duaij bin Salman Al Khalifa, Second Deputy Chairman of the SCYS; Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; and Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the GSA.
Al Hidaya Al Khalifia Secondary Boys School emerged victorious over Riffa East Secondary Boys School with a score of 1-0. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad presented the tournament trophies to Al Hidaya Al Khalifia for first place, Riffa East for second place, Nasser Scientific and Technical Centre for third place, and Bayan Bahrain School with the Fair Play Award.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the teams' performances and highlighted the tournament's role in developing school football and identifying young talent. His Highness commended HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad's support for sports and youth development, emphasising the importance of investing in future athletes.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also recognised the ministry's efforts in promoting school sports and fostering a competitive spirit among students. His Highness emphasised the importance of such events in preparing young athletes for Bahrain's national teams.
Dr. Juma thanked HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for his support, highlighting the ministry's commitment to enhancing school sports and nurturing young talent.
