General Directorate of Traffic Seizes 170 Unlicensed Scooters for Road Ban Violations

Manama: The General Directorate of Traffic has seized 170 unlicensed scooters and similar vehicles following the enforcement of a ban on February 9 prohibiting their use on main public roads, vehicle lanes, road shoulders, emergency lanes, and designated stopping areas. Violations result in the confiscation of the scooter and legal action against the user.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the General Directorate of Traffic stated that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and protect all road users, particularly given the unregulated use of these scooters and the resulting accidents, injuries, and risks to lives and property. Traffic patrols have been intensified to detect and penalise violators to ensure public safety.

The General Directorate of Traffic called upon road users to comply with traffic regulations to ensure road safety.
