Cairo: A delegation from the Government Hospitals, led by Dr. Maryam Athbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive of Government Hospitals, participated in the Egy Health Expo 2025 held in Egypt. Dr. Al Jalahma emphasised that Bahrain's participation reflects the Kingdom's keenness to keep pace with global developments in the health sector, benefit from the latest medical technologies and innovations, and strengthen cooperation with Arab and international health institutions, to further enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens and residents.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Jalahma added that the exhibition provides a leading platform for exchanging expertise and successful experiences in healthcare, exploring the latest medical equipment and technologies, and discussing opportunities for partnership and integration among Arab countries in the health sector.
The conference addressed several key topics, including digital transformation in healthcare, the role of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, treatment and health service management, the launch of new health initiatives in Egypt, and proposals to establish a cooperation network between Arab healthcare providers. It also discussed mechanisms for joint procurement of medicines to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
The delegation also attended the meeting of Arab health authorities, held on the sidelines of the conference, which highlighted the main challenges facing the Arab healthcare system, particularly the importance of ensuring continuity in the supply of medicines and medical equipment as a cornerstone for efficient health systems and for strengthening resilience in times of crises and emergencies.
During the conference, it was announced that Bahrain had assumed the presidency of the third session of the Arab Health Authorities, with the next meeting to be held on the sidelines of the Manama Health Congress and Expo 2026. The event will provide a new platform to advance Arab health integration and exchange future visions.
