Gioya Academic Senate Member Praises KHGC New Achievement

Manama: Through the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence (KHGC), Bahrain has successfully promoted a significant United Nations resolution to adopt January 28 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence. This move highlights the Kingdom's commitment to fostering global peace and understanding.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Evarist Bartolo, Malta's Former Education Minister and current Member of the Academic Senate of GIOYA Higher Education Institution, has emphasized the importance of this initiative. He noted that one of the greatest challenges today is learning to live together in a world of varied cultures, languages, religions, and competing interests.

Bartolo stated that the resolution underscores the need for global harmony and the continuous effort required to achieve it. "We have become each other's neighbors, and neighbors can become the worst of enemies unless we come together to find common ground. Yet, there is no alternative. However difficult, we must learn to coexist because the choice is clear: peaceful existence, or no existence at all," he added.

The former minister further emphasized that this resolution calls on nations to unite and prioritize peaceful coexistence for the sake of humanity.
