Manama: In line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the General Directorate of Traffic, supported by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, has launched a range of digital services on the MyGov app.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director General of Traffic, stated that the initiative is designed to enhance government service delivery through digital innovation. This move is part of the broader strategy to improve efficiency and accessibility for citizens and residents.
Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab outlined that the initial phase of traffic services available on the MyGov app includes features such as displaying driving licenses and vehicle ownership details, renewing driving licenses and vehicle registrations, and paying traffic fines. These services are accessible via the enhanced eKey 2.0 system, which incorporates biometric authentication using facial recognition for increased security and ease of access.
In collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), a phased transfer of all traffic services from the existing Traffic Services app to MyGov is planned. The Traffic Services app will be gradually discontinued based on feedback from users.
The General Directorate of Traffic encourages all citizens and residents to download the MyGov app from the eGovernment App Store (bahrain.bh/apps) and provide feedback through the Tawasul national suggestions and complaints system or by contacting the Government Services Call Centre at 80008001.
