Antalya: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, met with Luigi Di Maio, the European Union Special Representative for the Gulf, in Antalya, Republic of Trkiye, during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the GCC and Europe.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion covered various subjects, including the outcomes of Albudaiwi's recent visit to the EU and the European Parliament, where he engaged with key officials. They also examined the results of European Council President Antonio Costa's recent visits to several GCC member states.
Both sides reiterated their stance from the GCC-EU Joint Ministerial Meeting, condemning Iranian attacks on GCC states. They emphasized the need to maintain the security of regional airspace, maritime corridors, and freedom of navigation, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab. They also highlighted the importance of securing supply chains and ensuring the stability of global energy markets.
