Dubrovnik: Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Dubravka Å uica, European Commissioner for the Mediterranean (North Africa and the Middle East), on the sidelines of the Dubrovnik Forum in Croatia. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the GCC and the European Union, addressing key areas of mutual interest and ongoing negotiations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions included the ongoing negotiations on a free trade agreement between the GCC and the EU. They also explored the possibility of organizing a joint Gulf-EU conference on energy security, which would involve representatives from both public and private sectors, to bolster the energy partnership between the two regions.
Both parties exchanged views on regional and international developments. They highlighted the necessity for continued coordination and cooperation between the GCC and the EU to promote security, stability, and development both regionally and globally.
