Manama: Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, chaired an emergency meeting of the Ministers of Information of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, held remotely to address regional developments following Iranian attacks on GCC states. The meeting focused on the repercussions of these attacks that targeted civilian sites, vital facilities, infrastructure, residential areas, and private property, which the ministers noted as violations of international law and a direct threat to regional security.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Information Minister condemned the Iranian attacks and highlighted the GCC states’ right to respond under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which allows for self-defense in the event of aggression. Dr. Al Noaimi affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to peace under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and expressed solidarity with GCC countries’ measures to protect sovereignty and security.
Dr. Al Noaimi acknowledged the efforts of GCC armed forces in defending their nations and praised the role of security agencies in maintaining stability. He particularly commended the Bahrain Defence Force for its readiness and the air defense systems for intercepting the attacks. Condolences were extended to GCC countries for the victims, with wishes for the recovery of the injured.
The minister emphasized the crucial role of media institutions in fulfilling their national duty by presenting facts clearly, raising public awareness, and countering misinformation. He stressed the importance of media integration among GCC states to support a unified Gulf media discourse that reflects regional unity and positions on international platforms.
