GCC Ministers Discuss Economic Integration at Bahrain Meeting

Manama:Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, chaired the 15th Consultative Meeting of the GCC Ministers of Commerce and Industry and heads of Gulf federations and chambers. This meeting took place alongside the GCC ministerial committee meetings in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and joint efforts in response to rapidly evolving regional and international developments. This strategy aims to enhance the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) ability to safeguard economic interests, ensure supply-chain resilience, and maintain the flow of goods and services.

The Minister highlighted the need to transition from mere coordination to greater economic integration by promoting joint Gulf investments, expanding commercial and industrial projects, facilitating the movement of capital, goods, and services, and removing barriers to intra-GCC trade.

Additionally, the Minister expressed hope that the meeting would yield practical recommendations and shared visions to advance cooperation among GCC countries. Such efforts are expected to strengthen public-private sector partnerships, supporting sustainable development and prosperity across the region.
