Mexico City:Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Canada, met with Goldy Hyder, the President and CEO of the Business Council of Canada. This meeting took place during the Ambassador's official visit to Mexico City.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ambassador emphasized the growing relations between Bahrain and Canada and highlighted the importance of continued engagement between Bahraini economic stakeholders and members of the Business Council. This engagement is expected to include roundtables, business dialogues, and targeted investment briefings, all aimed at strengthening private-sector partnerships between the two nations.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid discussed Bahrain's role as a leading financial and technology hub in the Gulf, and expressed potential areas for cooperation with Canadian companies. Key sectors identified for collaboration include digital banking, fintech, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, sustainable finance, and the food industry. He also noted Bahrain's strategic position as a gateway to GCC markets, providing Canadian companies access to opportunities throughout the region.
The Ambassador further expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Canadian technology firms, particularly in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud services, digital health, and smart-city solutions. He highlighted Bahrain's conducive business environment and strategic location, which, combined with Canada's advanced expertise and technologies, could advance the shared interests of both countries.
