Manama:The Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) hosted a high-level session titled 'The Bahrain Advantage: Aligning Regulation, Investment, and Growth' at the fourth edition of Fintech Forward 2026. The event saw the participation of Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), and was moderated by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development. The session took place in the presence of Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event, organized by Bahrain EDB with support from the CBB, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), and Bahrain FinTech Bay, was held at Exhibition World Bahrain under the theme 'Finance in the Age of Intelligent Infrastructure.' Forbes Middle East was responsible for the event's programme and agenda.
The session brought together experts and decision-makers to discuss Bahrain's fintech ecosystem's progress and future. Discussions covered regulatory frameworks, global financial connections, and the skills needed for sustainable growth in the country.
Governor Humaidan highlighted Bahrain's advancements in fintech, emphasizing its role in facilitating efficient transactions and the future potential of technologies like blockchain and digital assets. He stressed the importance of investment in supervisory technology to enhance financial oversight and stability.
The Governor also mentioned the significance of international collaboration to boost Bahrain's financial services sector. He concluded by reaffirming the commitment to financial stability as a pillar of economic growth and the development of national talent, aiming to reinforce Bahrain's status as a hub for financial innovation.
