Manama:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a phone call with Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al Zouba, Yemen's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion centered on the strong ties between Bahrain and Yemen and explored avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation. The ministers deliberated on developments concerning Yemen at the UN Security Council, particularly in light of Bahrain's membership.
The conversation also addressed the Houthi militia's ongoing attacks against Saudi Arabia, which include deliberate strikes on civilian sites and airports in Abha, Jazan, Najran, Riyadh, and Aden Airport. These actions are seen as significant violations of international humanitarian law and the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.
Additionally, both ministers shared perspectives on Yemen's government efforts to extend its control across the nation, combat Houthi terrorist activities, and restore peace and stability. They emphasized the importance of protecting Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity while fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people for a secure, developed, and prosperous future.
