New York:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Kalani Kaneko, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion focused on reviewing and enhancing bilateral ties and cooperation between Bahrain and the Marshall Islands. Both ministers explored ways to strengthen relations across various sectors to support their shared interests.
Additionally, the meeting included an exchange of views on regional developments and efforts to bolster regional security and stability. The ministers discussed the effects of disruptions in navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab on energy and food supplies and international trade.
During the meeting, a significant milestone was achieved with the signing of the Joint Communiqu© on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Bahrain and the Marshall Islands. Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaie, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, attended the meeting.
