Foreign Ministers of Bahrain and Azerbaijan Sign Visa Exemption Agreement

New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting focused on reviewing the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Azerbaijan and exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation across various sectors in alignment with the interests of both nations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions between the two foreign ministers included an agreement to exempt visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports from both countries. This agreement marks a step forward in facilitating diplomatic engagements and fostering stronger bilateral ties. The ministers also deliberated on the latest regional and international developments, aiming to align their strategies and responses to global challenges.

The meeting was attended by key officials including Jamal Fares Al Ruwaiei, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UN in New York; Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These officials played a crucial role in the discussions, reflecting the importance both nations place on strengthening their diplomatic and cooperative endeavors.
