Foreign Minister Welcomes New UNICEF Representative to Kingdom

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the credentials of Lana Khalil Al Wreikat, the newly appointed United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain, residing in Riyadh. Dr. Al Zayani highlighted Bahrain's pride in the collaboration between its relevant authorities and UNICEF, emphasizing the nation's dedication to enhancing partnership and coordination on initiatives aimed at protecting children's rights and supporting childhood issues.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani expressed Bahrain's commitment to contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing the principles of care and protection for children. He noted that these efforts are crucial for fostering a nurturing environment for the younger generation.

In response, Al Wreikat affirmed her commitment to strengthening cooperation between UNICEF and Bahrain to advance the interests of children. She emphasized her dedication to supporting joint efforts in this field, aiming to enhance the welfare and rights of children in the Kingdom.
