Bahrain and Egypt Discuss Activation of Joint Youth Council

Manama: The Bahraini-Egyptian Youth Council recently conducted a remote coordination meeting to deliberate on strategies to activate its functions. This meeting was a step forward in implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt concerning cooperation in youth affairs and the establishment of the council.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikha Abdulla Butti, Director of Youth Enabling at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Chairperson of the Council on behalf of Bahrain, emphasized the ministry's commitment to activating the memorandum's provisions. This will be achieved through the implementation of targeted programs and events that align with the agreement's objectives. These initiatives aim to support and empower the youth, enhancing their role in various domains and reflecting the strong fraternal relations between the two countries.

Fareeda Khaled Ibrahim, Deputy Chairperson of the Council on behalf of Egypt, stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation between the two nations within the agreement's framework. She highlighted that this cooperation would yield positive and tangible results that serve the youth and fulfill their aspirations in Bahrain and Egypt.

The meeting focused on reviewing the mechanisms to activate the memorandum's provisions and its key pillars. It also explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation by facilitating youth exchanges and learning from leading experiences in youth work in both countries. Participants discussed implementing joint youth programs and initiatives aimed at developing youth capabilities and boosting their participation in the sustainable development process in both Bahrain and Egypt.
