Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as the Kingdom of Bahrain has been elected as a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council for the 2023-2026 session during the Plenipotentiary Conference in Bucharest in the Republic of Romania.
The Foreign Minister expressed his pride in this international achievement, which reflects the Kingdom’s advancement in the communication, information technology and digital transformation sector.
He also stressed that the membership of the ITU Council represents a new global recognition of the Kingdom’s positive role in deepening partnership with international organizations in providing a safe environment to benefit from advanced technology in support of sustainable development goals.
