Foreign Minister Engages in Strategic Talks with Greek Counterpart at UN Assembly

New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a strategic meeting with Giorgos Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, at the United Nations headquarters during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the longstanding relationship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Greece, emphasizing the continuous development across different sectors. The ministers discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and consultation during their membership in the UN Security Council.

In addition, both ministers exchanged perspectives on recent developments in the Middle East, particularly focusing on the situation in the Gaza Strip, efforts toward recognizing the independent State of Palestine, and other regional and international issues of common concern.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaie, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN in New York; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ali Khalid Al Araifi, Chief of Al Madar Centre.
