Manama: Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Intelligence National Centre (FinCEN) and Chairperson of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Policy Committee, chaired the committee's regular meeting. The meeting reviewed follow-up on the implementation of previous decisions, updates on the national risk assessment and self-assessment, and preparations ahead of the Kingdom of Bahrain's upcoming mutual evaluation process.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these discussions reflect Bahrain's commitment to strengthening its framework for combating money laundering and terrorism financing, and to safeguarding the integrity of the financial system. Shaikha May bint Mohammed expressed appreciation for the efforts of all entities and committee members, highlighting their active role in supporting joint efforts to combat financial crimes and enhance the AML/CFT framework, thereby contributing to consolidating Bahrain's regional and international standing.
