Criminal Investigation Director General Engages in UN Narcotic Drugs Meeting

Vienna: Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi, Director General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, participated in the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) meeting held from September 30 to October 2. The meeting focused on the implementation of international commitments related to drug control policies, following up on the 2019 Ministerial Declaration.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting covered a range of issues concerning drug control, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the public health response to drug use and prevention. Discussions included addiction treatment services, healthcare, and the increasing number of drug-related deaths. Health challenges associated with drug use, such as infectious diseases and other harmful consequences, were also addressed.

On the sidelines, Brigadier Al Rumaihi attended a coordination meeting organized by the Permanent Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to the United Nations in Vienna. Participants in this meeting discussed public health issues related to drug control and explored ways to enhance cooperation and share perspectives.
