Washington: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, engaged in a discussion session organized by the Atlantic Council focusing on Bahrain's fiscal and economic outlook. This session was part of his participation in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the session was moderated by Khalid Azim, Director for the Middle East and North Africa Futures Lab, and was attended by numerous experts and specialists. The discussion centered on key regional and global economic developments and their effects on the region's economies.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa provided insights into the developments in the global economy amid the current challenges. He noted that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have been actively working to establish more diversified, balanced, and resilient economies capable of withstanding various challenges.
The Finance Minister underscored Bahrain's capability to address economic and financial challenges. He emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance international economic relations to further trade and investment and ensure the sustainability of supply chains.
He highlighted that the current phase has fortified the region, affirming that GCC countries are expected to overcome these challenges with greater diversification and preparedness. They remain committed to building economies that support continued progress, prosperity, and opportunity.
